Two more flower companies hope to get Australian certificate

             Recently two more flower companies have been authorized devitalization handling certificate by State Inspection & Quarantine Bureau, and they are in the process of approval by Australian authority. If succeed, there will be four companies totally in Yunnan passed this test.


            Since 2000, the export of Yunnan Flowers increased very fast with annual 50% increase, until now, flowers were delivered to 33 countries and regions in the world, Australia has become one of new destinations for Yunnan flowers and is a most active market. According to statistics, export value in 2005 was 100 times bigger than the year of 2003.

  
              In order to understand the regulations to flower import to Australia, several groups have been organized to Australia for studying tours by Yunnan Flower Association, the recent one was to meet Dr. Niranjani Saverimut, Australian Quarantine Inspection Survey. During the discussion with her, they talked about quarantine and inspection procedures and requirement for cut flowers import as well as relative issues. Australia is very strict with goods import, flowers can be imported when devitalization treatment is done.
